The Chameleon's Dark Nebulae

NASA APOD · Andrey Kuznetsov
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Chameleon is a small constellation in the southern sky, not known for bright stars. This image, taken over Namibia, reveals a field of dust and colorful stars within it. Blue reflection nebulae are scattered throughout the scene. Most striking are the silvery dust clouds that faintly reflect starlight, punctuated by dense, dark nebulae.
