COSMIC MESSAGE
This panorama captures our Milky Way Galaxy across the entire sky. The 800-million-pixel mosaic aims to show every star visible to the naked eye from Earth. Part of ESO's Gigagalaxy Zoom Project, the images were taken over several months in 2008 and 2009 from excellent astronomical sites in the Atacama Desert and the Canary Islands.
