IC 4592: The Blue Horsehead Reflection Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE
This is not the famous Horsehead Nebula in Orion, but IC 4592, the Blue Horsehead Reflection Nebula. It's a fainter cloud of dust that, with deep imaging, takes on a similar equine shape. Reflection nebulae like this appear blue because they scatter the blue light from nearby energetic stars more efficiently. The star illuminating this nebula is called Nu Scorpii.
