Ice Moon Tethys from Saturn-Orbiting Cassini

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

What created the unusual surface of Saturn's moon Tethys? The Cassini spacecraft flew past Tethys in 2005 and captured this high-resolution image. Tethys's pervasive white color likely comes from fresh ice particles falling onto it from Saturn's E-ring. These particles are expelled by Saturn's moon Enceladus.
