After an oxygen tank exploded and crippled their service module, the Apollo 13 astronauts were forced to abandon plans for a lunar landing. This grainy photo reveals the extent of the damage as the service module drifted away. An entire panel on its side was blown away, showing extensive internal damage. This occurred hours before the command module's reentry and splashdown.
