COSMIC MESSAGE
Pulsar PSR B1509-58 is a young, rapidly spinning neutron star. It powers a wind of charged particles that creates the surrounding X-ray nebula, seen here by the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The supernova that formed it would have been visible from Earth about 1,700 years ago, leaving behind this magnetized, 20-kilometer-diameter stellar core.
