COSMIC MESSAGE

SOFIA, the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, took this infrared image of Jupiter from 35,000 feet. Flying above most of Earth's water vapor, SOFIA captured the gas giant without its usual southern equatorial belt. A ground-based visible light image is included for comparison.
