The Cassini spacecraft captured Saturn, its rings, and an unusual dark band across the planet's disk. The large orb on the left is Saturn, and the arcs are its rings. The diagonal dark band is Saturn's shadow on the rings. The dark bands superposed on Saturn's disk are the shadows cast by the rings themselves.
