Anticrepuscular Rays Over Colorado
NASA APOD · John Britton
COSMIC MESSAGE
These are anticrepuscular rays, an optical phenomenon seen when the sun sets behind clouds. They are the same parallel light rays as crepuscular rays, but viewed from the opposite side of the sky. Because of perspective, these parallel rays appear to converge at a point opposite the sun. The effect creates a dramatic visual across the horizon.
