COSMIC MESSAGE

In late 2010, a massive storm erupted in Saturn's northern hemisphere. The Cassini spacecraft, orbiting Saturn, captured this close-up of the disturbance from 1.8 million kilometers away. Over time, the storm spread, stretching far around the planet. Saturn's thin rings are visible in the background, providing a sense of scale for this immense weather event.
