COSMIC MESSAGE

Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka form the iconic Belt of Orion. These three blue supergiant stars are much hotter and more massive than the Sun. They lie about 1,500 light-years away, having formed from Orion's vast interstellar clouds. The region also contains other familiar shapes, like the dark Horsehead Nebula.
