Sun 360: STEREO Captures Views of the Entire Sun

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

For the first time, we can see the entire Sun at once. This became possible when the two STEREO satellites reached opposite sides of our star. The STEREO satellites have been drifting apart since their 2006 launch, with one orbiting slightly closer to the Sun than the other. This image combines views from both spacecraft, showing nearly the entire Sun as it appeared in early 2011.
