Gravity Probe B Confirms the Existence of Gravitomagnetism

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Einstein predicted that spinning masses should create a slight gravitational magnetism, an effect so subtle it's beyond ground-based measurement. NASA's Gravity Probe B mission launched in 2004 to test this. Using the smoothest spheres ever manufactured, the probe orbited Earth to see how these gyroscopes would be affected by the planet's rotation. The mission confirmed this tiny, predicted warping of spacetime.
