COSMIC MESSAGE

The Trifid Nebula, also known as M20, is a cosmic study in colorful contrasts. Located 5,000 light-years away in Sagittarius, it is a star-forming region in our galaxy's plane. The nebula illustrates three types of nebulae: red emission nebulae, where hydrogen atoms emit light; blue reflection nebulae, where dust reflects starlight; and dark nebulae, where dense dust clouds appear in silhouette.
