The Apollo 17 landing site in the Taurus-Littrow valley, as seen by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO. This is the sharpest image ever taken from space of the site. LRO's orbit was modified for this close approach, at an altitude of only 22 kilometers.
