COSMIC MESSAGE
The sky near Antares and Rho Ophiuchi is filled with colors due to a mix of cosmic processes. Blue reflection nebulae are created by fine dust illuminated by starlight from the front. Reddish emission nebulae form when ultraviolet starlight excites gaseous clouds. Dark, backlit dust clouds block starlight, appearing as silhouettes against the colorful backdrop.
