At the center of our Milky Way Galaxy, 27,000 light-years away, is a black hole called Sagittarius A*. It has 4 million times the mass of the Sun. While generally calm, it does flare up occasionally. This series of X-ray images from the NuSTAR orbiting observatory captures one such outburst, lasting several hours.
