Solar Eclipse over Queensland

NASA APOD · Phil Hart
COSMIC MESSAGE

The 2012 total solar eclipse passed over northern Australia. This telescopic snapshot, taken from Queensland along the Mulligan highway, shows the Moon almost completely covering the Sun. A thin ring of sunlight still surrounds the Moon's disk. Most of the eclipse track fell across the southern Pacific.
