COSMIC MESSAGE

This composite image captures the 2012 total solar eclipse over Queensland, Australia. Taken from a hilltop west of Mount Carbine, it shows the Moon's shadow progressing across the reddened face of the Sun. The sequence begins near the horizon as the Moon steadily encroaches. The total phase lasted about two minutes.
