Eta Carinae, a star about 100 times more massive than our Sun, may be on the verge of exploding. No one knows when it will happen, but it could be next year or a million years from now. Located in the Keyhole Nebula, Eta Carinae is the only known star to emit natural laser light. This image captures the star, which famously brightened in the 1800s.
