Mars shines brightly in the constellation Taurus, near the star Aldebaran and the Hyades and Pleiades star clusters. Aldebaran appears to be part of the V-shaped Hyades, but it is not. The Hyades cluster is 151 light-years away, making it the nearest established open cluster to Earth.
