Star Forming Region NGC 3582

COSMIC MESSAGE

The NGC 3582 nebula is a region where stars and interesting molecules are forming. This complex nebula is part of RCW 57, a larger star-forming region. We see dense knots of dark dust, bright young stars, glowing hydrogen gas, and loops of gas from dying stars. Studies of NGC 3582 have found at least 33 massive stars within it.
