Dusty Nebulae in Taurus

COSMIC MESSAGE
This region of dusty nebulae lies along the edge of the Taurus molecular cloud, only 450 light-years away. New stars are forming here, including RY Tauri, a very young star embedded in its natal cloud of gas and dust. RY Tauri is a pre-main sequence star, still relatively cool and in the late phases of gravitational collapse. It is also cataloged as reflection nebula vdB 27.
