Perigee's Full Moon
NASA APOD · Anthony Ayiomamitis
COSMIC MESSAGE
Our Moon, at its closest point to Earth, makes for a particularly large Full Moon. This happens roughly every 14 lunar months. The photo captures the Moon near perigee, the closest point in its orbit, making it appear bigger and brighter than usual. This phenomenon is not especially rare, but always a beautiful sight.
