The Trail of a Minotaur

NASA APOD · Chris Cook
COSMIC MESSAGE

Star trails arc above a moonlit beach and jetty in this image from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The longest and brightest trail isn't a star, but a Minotaur 1 rocket. The photograph captures its stage separation and exhaust plume as it climbed toward low Earth orbit. The multi-stage rocket launched from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on November 19.
