In the interior of Antarctica, scientists found the coldest place on Earth, with a record low temperature of -93.2 degrees Celsius. This is about 25 degrees Celsius colder than any permanently inhabited place. The record was discovered by analyzing decades of satellite climate data. The coldest spots were found near mountain peaks, where higher air is generally colder.
