The bright bluish stars Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka form the familiar Belt of Orion. These three blue supergiant stars are much hotter and more massive than our Sun. They lie about 1,500 light-years away, born from the gas and dust clouds of the Orion constellation. This region also holds the famous Horsehead Nebula.
