Potentially Habitable Moons

These four moons, shown at the same scale, represent some of the most promising places in our solar system to search for life. Europa and Enceladus are known to have subsurface oceans of liquid water. The Galileo mission discovered Europa's ocean and indications of Ganymede's interior seas. Cassini found erupting geysers of water ice from Enceladus, pointing to warmer subsurface conditions.
