Green Flash at Moonrise
NASA APOD · El Cielo de Canarias
COSMIC MESSAGE
A green flash, usually seen at sunrise or sunset, is a brief optical phenomenon. It happens when sunlight or moonlight is refracted by the atmosphere, appearing green for a moment as it dips below or rises above the horizon. This rare image captures the green flash of a rising Moon, a harder sight to catch than the more common solar green flash.
