COSMIC MESSAGE
This colorful region in Cepheus, about 2,400 light-years away, shows a mix of bright and dark nebulae. At the upper left is Sharpless 155, also called the Cave Nebula. Its bright, ionized gas rims are lit by ultraviolet light from hot, young stars within. This area is part of a massive molecular cloud, a fertile ground for star formation.
