Nine years ago, the New Horizons spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral, beginning its journey to Pluto. It is the fastest spaceship ever launched, passing the Moon in nine hours and Jupiter in a year. When it launched, Pluto was still considered a planet. Tomorrow, it will make its closest approach.
