Dwarf planet Ceres is the largest object in the main asteroid belt, with a diameter of about 950 kilometers. The Dawn spacecraft has been exploring Ceres since March, revealing about 130 mysterious bright spots. Most are associated with impact craters, scattered across the small world's dark surface. The brightest spot is near the center of the 90-kilometer-wide Occator Crater.
