This image shows the large spiral galaxy NGC 1532 in a gravitational struggle with a smaller dwarf galaxy. Located over 50 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus, this pair illustrates how large galaxies grow by absorbing smaller ones. Our own Milky Way galaxy also engages in this galactic cannibalism.
