The Moon and Jupiter shared the sky on July 15, 2012. From Earth, Jupiter appears as a bright point of light next to the crescent Moon. This telescopic view from Italy shows Jupiter and its four largest moons. Europeans could also watch Jupiter disappear behind the Moon as it passed through the night sky.
