Jupiter has aurorae, similar to Earth's. Its magnetic field funnels charged particles from the Sun onto the poles. As these particles hit the atmosphere, they cause gases to emit light. This Hubble Space Telescope image, taken in ultraviolet, shows Jupiter's aurorae.
