COSMIC MESSAGE
Saturn reached opposition on June 16, 2017, meaning it was opposite the Sun in Earth's sky. This made it visible all night, at its closest and brightest for the year. This sharp image, taken with a one-meter telescope, shows Saturn's north polar storm and its distinctive hexagon. The rings, always a spectacular sight, were also prominently featured.
