On certain February dates, Yosemite National Park's Horsetail Fall transforms into a 'firefall' at sunset. When conditions are just right, the setting sun's rays reflect off the angled rockface behind the waterfall, making it glow fiery orange. This elusive phenomenon is often photographed from below, when the fall is isolated in the shadows of El Capitan's steep walls.
