COSMIC MESSAGE
A Full Moon, sometimes called a Strawberry Moon, rose as the Sun set on June 9, 2017. Close to the horizon, the moon takes on a warm hue as sunlight filters through Earth's atmosphere. This telephoto shot captures the illuminated lunar disk rising over the skyscrapers of southern Manhattan. It's a reminder of the vast distances in our solar system, from our planet to the moon.
