On August 21, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter looked back at Earth, capturing the Moon's shadow during a solar eclipse. The Narrow Angle Camera scanned our planet, showing the dark lunar shadow racing across the United States. This view from orbit shows the eclipse path centered over Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where the New Moon blocked the Sun for about two minutes.
