COSMIC MESSAGE
The Cat's Paw Nebula, NGC 6334, is an emission nebula in Scorpius, about 5,500 light-years away. Its red color comes from an abundance of ionized hydrogen atoms. This region is an active star-forming area, where stars nearly ten times the mass of our Sun have been born in the last few million years. It is also known as the Bear Claw Nebula.
