The Pinnacles, unusual rock spires in Nambung National Park in Western Australia, are made of ancient sea shells. How these human-sized spires formed is still a topic of research. A ray of zodiacal light, sunlight reflected by dust grains, rises from the horizon. The Milky Way galaxy arches across the top of the image.
