COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet PanSTARRS (C/2016 R2) appears to be heading toward the Pleiades star cluster, but it is much closer to us. The comet, a chunk of ice, shows a blue ion tail due to ionized carbon monoxide. The Pleiades, on the other hand, are a cluster of young, blue stars about 440 light-years away.
