Asteroid Bennu Holds the Building Blocks of Life
NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft collected samples from asteroid Bennu and returned them to Earth in 2023. Analysis of these samples revealed a surprising discovery: 14 of the 20 known amino acids, the essential building blocks of life, were present. This finding reignites questions about whether life on Earth could have originated from extraterrestrial sources, delivered by asteroids like Bennu.
