Deep under the South Pole, the IceCube detector found a neutrino from a distant blazar jet. This could be the first clear detection of a cosmologically distant neutrino. It may also link energetic neutrinos to cosmic rays from powerful quasar jets. This discovery opens a new window into the high-energy universe.
