NASA APOD · Witta Priester
COSMIC MESSAGE
These rare Asperitas clouds are forming over New Zealand. Though they look like storm clouds, they do not seem to be dangerous. Only recognized as a distinct cloud type in 2017, their cause is still unknown. They are the first cloud type added since 1951.
