Stars and Dust in Corona Australis
NASA APOD · Josep Drudis
COSMIC MESSAGE
These cosmic dust clouds and young, energetic stars are less than 500 light-years away in Corona Australis, the Southern Crown. The dust clouds block light from more distant background stars in the Milky Way. The striking complex of reflection nebulae, NGC 6726, 6727, and IC 4812, produces a characteristic blue color as light from young, hot stars reflects off the cosmic dust.
