Matterhorn, Moon, and Meteor
NASA APOD · Stephane Vetter
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Matterhorn, familiar to mountaineers, points to an eclipsed Moon and a meteor streaking by. Captured from Zermatt, Switzerland, on a frigid January morning, different exposures reveal the Moon's dim red glow, fully immersed in Earth's shadow. Above the famous peak, a meteor adds to the rare alignment.
