Have you ever seen a dark night sky? One where the glowing band of our Milky Way galaxy stretches from horizon to horizon. If you live near a big city, light pollution might prevent you from seeing this. The International Astronomical Union asks people to 'Turn on the Night' by understanding and reducing light pollution, especially on UNESCO's International Day of Light.
