Young Stars in the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Newborn stars are forming in the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, one of the closest star-forming regions to us. This infrared image from the WISE telescope shows dense clouds of dust and gas where stars are being born. The complex is about 400 light-years away, in the constellation Ophiuchus. We can see through the dust in infrared, revealing the young stars hidden within.
