Geminid Meteors over Chile

NASA APOD · Yuri Beletsky (Carnegie Las Campanas Observatory, TWAN)
COSMIC MESSAGE

When Earth crosses a stream of Sun-orbiting meteors, they appear to come from a single point in the sky, called the radiant. This image, a four-hour composite from Chile, captures the Geminid meteor shower near its peak in 2013, showing shooting stars radiating from Gemini.
